What I Did on my Summer Vacation

By Bev

Shaved my head. Took advantage of this new canvas to get a tattoo of my cats on my skull. Yes, it hurt.

Got my cars serviced. Unsuccessfully tried to sell my Jeep.

Bought a motorcycle. Bought spiffy armored clothes to ride in. Changed my own oil.

Did stuff around the house. Learned that there is an infinite amount of stuff I could do around the house.

Hiked on Mt. Rainier .Hit prime wildflower season. Saw (and heard) marmots up close!

Road-tripped to Portland and then up the Oregon coast and across the Olympic Peninsula.

Went rock climbing at Icicle Creek and then on an overnight horseback trip in the Entiat National Forest .Forgot to bring my saddle. Regretted it. Otherwise a wonderful trip.

Visited my mom in L.A. Went horseback riding with my friend Charlotte while I was there.

Finally got my sister Nancy to come visit. Took her to Bainbridge Island where we bought the cutest stuffed animal/puppet doggie in the whole world. Named him Oliver.

Volunteered for the Cascades Conservation Partnership at the Summer Nights at the Pier concert series. Met Chris Isaak.

Went to other concerts: Keb’ Mo and Los Lobos, India Arie, Dar Williams.

Went to Whidbey Island with Sharon .Saw Deception Pass , bought lavender plants for the front yard. Read and slept a lot.

Threw a Mini-Man party for the people who didn’t go to Burning Man this year. Regretted that I didn’t go, but decided that the party was my Burning Man project.
